Richard Bates dies at this home, 158 Tisdale street, last night after a long illness. He was born in Plymouth, VT, 70 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nettie I. (Tarbell) Nates; two sons, Lyman R. and Louis P. Bates, all of this city.

The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Haws Memorial Chapel. Rev. Roy M. Trafton, pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.

The Funeral of Richard M. Bates, who died Friday at his home, 157 Tisdale street, Friday, was held yesterday afternoon at 2:20 o'clock from the Haws Memorial chapel. Rev. Roy M. Trafton, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery. The bearers were Stanley Meader, Richmond Desmond and Harlow, Arthur, Francis and Albert Bates, all of this city.
