Lillie was the daughter of John R. and Martha Isabelle Stallings Woodward. She had lived all her life in Hartshorne. On June 3, 1927 she married Olin V. Lewis in Red Oak. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1978. A member of the Edgewood United Methodist Church of Hartshorne, she was also a member of the Hartshorne Order of the Eastern Star, the Killhoti Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Dixie Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Fortnightly Club, Twin Cities Garden Club and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. A school teacher, she taught school for 47 years in and around Hartshorne, including the Craig community, Lone Oak and Hartshorne schools. Survivors include a son, James O. Lewis of Tulsa; a grandson, Sigmund C. Lewis of Tulsa; a great grandson, Christian James Lewis of Tulsa and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 21, 1992 at Mills Funeral Home Chapel in Hartshorne with Rev. Jerry Calvert officiating.
