AMHERST, March 22. -
Mrs. Catherine Garthe passed away at about 10:30 o'clock Saturday eveing at her home on Masel(?) street, following a long illness caused by tubercular trouble. She had been in poor health for more than a year and for the past five months had been confined to her bed.
The deceased was born in Germany and came to this country at an early age, being a resident of Amherst for a great many years. Her husband, August Garthe died 14 years ago.
Mrs. Garthe was 72 years of age. She leaves to mourn her loss three sons,
Henry, of Akron,
Williams and George of this city,
and one daughter, Zetta, also of this city.
One sister, Mrs. Kirchoff of Lorain also survives,
besides a host of relatives and friends.
The deceased was a member of the Stone church, a devout Christian and a loving mother.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Stone church at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Neumeister officiating. Interment will be made in Cleveland avenue cemetery.
