Reno Isadore Valentino, age 91, of Crosby, died on Aug. 3, 2008, at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.

He was born on March 7, 1917, in Ironton to Richard and Rose (Ballone) Valentino. He married Lily Beatrice Moritz on March 13, 1940, in Brainerd. He was a World War II army veteran and a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post 443 of Ironton. He was a retired M.A. Hanna Mining employee with 30 years of service. He was also a former custodian at the Crosby-Ironton High School. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Fri., Aug. 8, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with full military honors given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post. Friends may call on Thursday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.

He is survived by his wife Bea; sons, Richard (Sandra) Valentino, St. Paul; Ronald (Sharon) Valentino, Indio, Calif., Lyle "Rocky" (Sheila) Valentino, Aitkin; daughters, Lynn (Donald) Valiquet, Crosby; Lisa (Doug) Hughes, Conway S.C.; and LeeAnn (Devon) Russell, Crosby; brother, Richard (Joyce) Valentino, Black River Falls, Wis.; sisters, Thresa (Frank) Oreskovich of Black River Falls, Wis.; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lori Valentino; brother, Joe Valentino; and sister, Annie Chambers.
