HUNTINGTON - Andrew Jackson "Jack" Andrews, 78, of Huntington, formerly of Clendenin, died May 20, 2001, at home after a short illness.

He was the son of the late William Augustus and Hattie Stephenson Andrews. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Thomas, Virgil and Edward Andrews.

He retired from Union Carbide with 40 years of service. He was also an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving: brothers, William of Hope Sound, Fla., Harry of Port Orange, Fla., Walter of St. Albans; sisters, Elizabeth Naylor of Huntington, Nancy Andrews of Denver, Colo., Ruth Andrews of Wellborn, Fla.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin, with the Rev. Gus Andrews officiating. Burial will be by E$ in Koontz Cemetery, Clendenin, immediately following.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
