Mr. Elliott moved in 1935 from Gretna, Virginia to Danville where he lived the remainder of his life.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the European Theatre in World War II. After the war he attended Richmond Barber College and later owned and operated Kemper Road Barber Shop for 25 years. He also attended several textile courses while employed as an overseer with Dan River Mills. Through the years he was owner and operator of Elliott Sales. In the last several years he was well known as a clock repairman. He was an active member and usher at the Tabernacle and a member of American Legion Post #1097.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Donald Elliott and wife Patsy of Chester, Virginia and Larry Elliott and wife Margaret of Providence, North Carolina; five grandchil-dren, Pamela Anderson and husband Bobby, Tori Colb and husband Michael, Stacie Hart-man and husband Eric, Landi Bradner and husband Derek and Larry Elliott, Jr. and wife Angeline. Also surviving are ten great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters, Jessie Ammons, Etha Higgins and Reva Jones and a brother, Bernard B. Elliott.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2008, 11:00 a.m., at the Tabernacle with the Rev. Lamarr Mooneyham officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park with military honors by American Legion Post #1097.
