Clarence Myers, 85, of Union, died Saturday, Sept. 15, at his home.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Union. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery.
Mr. Myers was born Aug. 30,1917, at Hermiston, the youngest son of Charlie Richard and Ollie Jane Myers, who were among the first residents of the Hermiston area.
In February 1941, he married his childhood friend and sweetheart, Naomi May Nunn at Lewiston, Idaho.
He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during World War II.
Mr. Myers worked for the Game Commission for a while, then for the U.S. government as an ammo inspector until his retirement in 1977. During these years he served in several U.S. states as well as Japan, Germany and Vietnam.
He was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in September 1977, the same year he and his wife moved to Union.
In his younger years, Mr. Myers enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, rock hunting, traveling, and researching family history. In his later years being at home was of comfort to him.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Myers; his sons, Charlie of Caldwell, Idaho, Allen of Union, and Steve of Umatilla; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
