Another Pioneer Gone
A most familiar heading is the above for the past few years. Every week the local papers of the county chronicle the passing of some pioneer. They are going rapidly. This week a great circle of old friends, neighbors and relatives mourn the passing of that grand old man of the Cora community, Mr. Thomas Crabb. Little did he or his friends think when he came up from Topeka last fall for an extended visit with his children that he would never return. But he was 80 or there-a-bouts and unable to withstand a parallytic stroke that came over him a month ago, while at his son Berts who lives six miles southeast of Lebanon where he passed over last Sunday morning March 24th 1912.
Dr. John Crabb and wife arrived from Topeka last Saturday. The fearful condition of the roads made it almot impossible for many people to make the long drive of 16 miles to the Cora cemetery where the burial took place Monday. Deceased settled in this county in 1878. A wife, three sons and two daughters survive him.
