Alice, was the fourth of six children born to the marriage of Charles Franklin Ovitt and Martha Jane Counts Ovitt. Born 1915 in North Dakota, 9 yr old Alice is listed as living with her family on the 1925 Bottineau North Dakota Census. By 1930, when her mother was a widowed head of a rented household, 14 yr old Alice was not found among her siblings Philip, 19, Charles Thomas 17, Nora 12 and Wilford/Wilfred 9.
