She was born October 31, 1918 in Clay County to Ray & Vernice (McHenry) Rodgers. She married Sylvester Bay on October 24, 1936 in Flora. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1991.
She retired after working 32 years at International Shoe and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Flora.
She is survived by her son: Roger Bay & wife Pat of Lincoln; daughter: Linda Taylor & husband Steve; 4 grandchildren: Nick Bay of Springfield, Katie Taylor Burmeister & husband Scott of Flora, Emmy Taylor Greenwood & husband Jim of Dupo, and Zoe Taylor of Charleston; 5 great-grandchildren: Morgan, Mason, Alydia, Alexis & Keegan; sister: Dolores Green & husband Howard of Flora. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be after 1 PM until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice and may be received at the funeral home.
