" EX-TOWNVILLE POSTMASTER DIES AT 72
Ernest Dale Mallinee, 72, former postmaster and justice of the peace at Townville, died at about 10 p.m. yesterday at his home following a long illness.
He served as postmaster for 13 years. For 24 years he was a justice of the peace. He also served as secretary of the Townville Borough Council for 36 years.
He was born Feb. 27, 1891, in Townville, the son of John K. and Attie Smith Mallinee.
He attended public schools in Townville.
During World War I Mr. Mallinee served with the Army.
On June 12, 1918, he married Iva F. Terrill, who survives.
He was a member of the Townville Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, choirmaster and Sunday school superintendent, a member of the Townville IOOF Lodge for over 50 years and the Steuben Grange.
He also is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Ruth) Seiler of Townville and Mrs. Paul (Rachel) Parker of Little Valley, N.Y.; a sister, Mrs. Katherine Miller of Dayton, O., and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home in Townville from 7 to 9 Tuesday evening and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 Wednesday. A funeral service will be held there at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. John Wiborg, pastor of the Townville Baptist Church, and Rev. Albert Broadhurst, retired Episcopalian minister, officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Townville."
