Connie Atkins Lafferty, 72, of Alma (Bacon Co) died Tuesday night (August 4, 2008) at Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, (Hillsborough Co) FL after a lengthy illness. She was born in Glenn Morrison, West Virginia to the late Linden Hyle and Ruth Elizabeth Perdue Atkins. She lived in Alma since 1995 and moved to Tampa, FL with her daughter in April, 2008. Mrs. Lafferty worked at Wal-Mart in Waycross for nearly 10 years as a Greeter. She was a member of New Lacy Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jimmy Lafferty.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Kiszka and her husband Paul, Tampa, FL, Deborah Crevier and her husband William, Tampa, FL, one son, James Lafferty and his wife, Beverly, Alma, GA; two grandchildren, Billy and Wendy; one sister, Myrtle Smith, West Virginia, one brother, Hyle Atkins, West Virginia, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A graveside service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 am at Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at the funeral home.
