Mrs. Mamie Florence Chilton, 82, of Sulphur, died Wednesday, May 28, 1986, at the Trimble Nursing Center, Bedford. She was a native of Carroll County; formerly of Turners Station; and a member of the Turners Station Baptist Church.

She is survived by on daughter: Mrs. Charles (Virgie Rae) Ricketts, Sulphur; two sons: Edward Warner Chilton, Campbellsburg and Bobby Eugene Chilton, Milton; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1st from Prewitt's, New Castle. Dr. Clayton Klingenfus, pastor of the New Castle Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery. Casketbearers were Raymond Willett, Woodrow Batts, Robert E. Batts, Paul W. Chilton, Ray Tharp and R.S. Tingle.

By 1919 had no more brothers and her mom and dad had both died too so she went to live with her aunt Stella and uncle Lester, then married Porter Chilton in 1923.
