ALDRIDGE, William – On Oct. 21st, 1907 we assembled at Mt. Comfort cemetery to behold for the last time the face to William Aldridge. After the short illness of only one week he died from blood poison in the arm. The funeral services were conducted by Bro. Newt Cook of Savoy, Ark., one that loved him as a neighbor and friend. William Aldridge was born Oct. 31st, 1832 in Kentucky. He moved from there to Indiana, from there to Kansas and from there to Arkansas 27 years ago, where he lived till the time of his death. He married Miss Mariah Watts April 21st,1854. To them were born 10 children. Five survive him. He professed faith in Christ many years ago but was not convicted with any church at the time of his death. He was once Sunday school teacher at Savoy, Ark. where he made many friends. Brother Aldridge had lived alone most of the time since the death of his beloved wife who preceded him into the Promised Land 20 years ago. He leaves a host of friends and neighbors besides his widowed son and three little motherless children who have been living with him for the last two years, to mourn his loss. While it was a night of weeping with the son and three little orphans and neighbors and friends who gathered around the death bed, he fell into eternal sleep without a struggle, may they so live as to meet him in the morning of joy.
