Funeral services for Lauren Elizabeth Sparks will be 11 am Tuesday at the Adams Boulevard Church of Christ in Bartlesville with Mr. David Hammonds officiating. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory. Lauren died Saturday morning in Claremore at the age of 20.
Casket escorts will include Samuel Sparks III, Jacob Sparks, Caleb Sparks, Wesley Crouse, Shawn McCollam, Cory McCollam and Nick McCollam.
Lauren was born Oct. 15, 1987, the daughter of Kitty Gertrude Miller and Samuel Derring Sparks Jr. She grew up and attended schools in Independence, Kan, until moving with family to Bartlesville, and then Owasso and Claremore where she graduated from Claremore High School. She was a member of the Church of Christ and she loved animals, working with computers, and her dogs, Maggie and Jadus.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Buford Miller. Lauren is survived by her father and step-mother, Sam and Tracy Sparks of Bartlesville; her mother, Kitty Sparks of Claremore; four brothers, Samuel D. Sparks III of Bartlesville, Jacob W. Sparks of Arlington, Texas, Caleb L. Sparks of Tulsa and Hudson L. Sparks of Bartlesville; one sister, Hannah L. Sparks of Bartlesville; one step-brother, Jered Clarke of Bartlesville; her maternal grandmother, Vivian Miller of Owasso; and her paternal grandparents, Sam and Donna Sparks of Dewey.
