Martha's death certificate indicates she is the daughter of George Prater (#46883246) and "Linda Sparks" (believed to be Malinda Jane SALYER Prater - #14813774). Goodspeed's Madison County History does not list her as one of the children, however "Martha B" is clearly listed on the 1870 and 1880 census records for the George Prater household in St. Paul, Madison County AR. "Goodspeeds" history does however acknowledge the fact that George Prater moved his family to Texas during the civil war years, where both Martha and her brother William were born.
