An Army veteran, he was born April 29, 1918, in Whittemore, Iowa, and was a retired farmer and a 12-year resident of Pahrump. He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge and Moose Lodge and was active with Boy Scouts of America.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances of Pahrump; sons, Larry of Ocean Park, Wash., John of Oak Ridge, N.C., and Richard of Lacey, Wash.; brother, Frank of Alexandria, Minn.; sister, Maxine Huff of Algona, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
