Roscoe Erich Nortrup, 86, of New Berlin died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born Oct. 3, 1918, in Bluffs, the son of Erich and Anna Botterbush Nortrup. He married Irene Aiderman Beyer in 1955 in Miami.
Mr. Nortrup graduated from Bluffs High School in 1936 and attended Illinois College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. He farmed in the New Berlin area. He served as secretary and treasurer of Lutheran Cemetery for 25 years and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he served as president, vice president and secretary of the church voting members.
Survivors: wife, Irene; two sons, Ronald L. Nortrup of New Berlin and Larry Nortrup of Lynnville; daughter, Sherry Patterson of Virginia; stepson, Stephen Beyer of Alva, Fla.; five grandchildren; three stepgranddaughters; and two step-great-granddaughters.
Services: St. John's Lutheran Church, New Berlin, the Rev. Robert Barth officiating. Burial: Lutheran Cemetery, New Berlin.
