Mr. Nortrup graduated from Bluffs High School in 1936 and attended Illinois College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. He farmed in the New Berlin area. He served as secretary and treasurer of Lutheran Cemetery for 25 years and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he served as president, vice president and secretary of the church voting members.
Survivors: wife, Irene; two sons, Ronald L. Nortrup of New Berlin and Larry Nortrup of Lynnville; daughter, Sherry Patterson of Virginia; stepson, Stephen Beyer of Alva, Fla.; five grandchildren; three stepgranddaughters; and two step-great-granddaughters.
Services: St. John's Lutheran Church, New Berlin, the Rev. Robert Barth officiating. Burial: Lutheran Cemetery, New Berlin.
