Virginia "Joyce" Anders, 67, of Fayetteville passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at Fayetteville. She was born June 14, 1939, in Fayetteville, the daughter of Carl and Viola Price. Joyce received her GED while studying to get her commercial driver's license. She worked many jobs, including truck driving and Tyson Foods, before she retired from Dandy Oil Co. She married Bill Anders on Oct. 1, 1971, who preceded her in death along with her parents and one brother.
She is survived by four brothers, Donald Price and wife Christine of Fayetteville, Charles Price and wife Wanda of Springdale, Carl Ray Price and wife Judy of Fayetteville, David Price of Fayetteville; one sister, Barbara Hendrickson and husband Ralph of Horn Lake, Miss.; four stepchildren, Bill Anders and wife Mona of Neosho, Mo., Christine Dunsworth and husband Ewell of Augusta, Kan., Chris Anders and wife Edith of Southwest City, Mo., Melvin "Hap" Anders and wife Judy of Rocky Comfort, Mo.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews and many friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 at Elm Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, Sept. 19 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, online at www.nelsonberna.com. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
