Mrs. Lena Long, 88, of Springfield, formerly of New Berlin, died at 11:40 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Medical Center. Born in Loami on July 24, 1898, Mrs. Long was the daughter of George J. and Anna K. Rehleder Eckhardt.
She married Adolph W. Long in 1924 and he died in 1981. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Harriett Prill, in 1986; one granddaughter, her parents; and one sister, Anna K. Eckhardt.
Mrs. Long was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Berlin, the Lutheran Ladies Aid and M.M.M. Club.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Al (Wanda) Birdsell of Springfield; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. George (Ruth) Burton of Springfield.
Services at McCullough Funeral Home, New Berlin, with the Rev. Robert Barth officiating. Burial in Lutheran Cemetery.
