Dorothy Naomi Ervin Crump, 86, of North Salem, formerly of Indianapolis died on Thursday, February 24 at North Salem. She was born March 24, 1918 to Herman Edgar and Lillie Irene Ervin. She was a graduate of Shortridge High School. She worked at Woolworths 5 & 10¢ store and was an inspector at Allisons. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and Methodist Women and Homemakers for over 40 years. She was a successful business owner with her husband of Crump Electric Company for more than 40 years. Mrs. Crump is survived by her four children, three daughters, Linda (and her husband, Gordon) Simon, Janet Jordan, Joyce (and her husband, Kenneth) Greene; son, Chester Ervin (and his wife, Kimberly) Crump; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Jessie Irene Archer. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Crump; brother, Chester Earl Ervin and sister, Mildred Katura Hicks. Mrs. Crump's family will receive friends Sunday, February 27 Noon until time of service. Service will be at Porter Funeral Home, North Salem Sunday February 27 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, North Salem. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Ruth Lilly Hospice of Clarian.
