Mr. Anderson, who was eighty-five years old, was born in Belleville, March 1, 1841 but for the past thirty-eight years has been a resident of this city. He was a man of excellent character and was held in high esteem in the community in which he lived. The death of his wife occurred several years ago and he is survived by one son, Charles C. Anderson of this city; a grandson, Robert Virgin, also of Parkersburg, and the following brothers and sisters: C. J. Anderson, D. B. Anderson and Nelson Anderson, all of Rockport, and S.C. Anderson of Royal, Iowa, Mrs. Elizabeth Melrose of this city and Mrs. A. L. Martin of Kansas.
