Army Pfc. Cole was assigned to the 426th Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. She died in Bayji of a gunshot wound suffered in a non-combat-related incident. Jennifer and her family moved to American Canyon, California in 1985 where she graduated from Vintage High School in 1992. After graduation, she worked a short time for UPS before joining her mother in the family floral business. When her mother sold the flower shop, she joined the Army in 2007. In March, Jennifer was deployed to Iraq where she drove Army transport vehicles, transporting supplies and troops. During her military career, she was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon and Weapons Qualification. Jennifer loved race cars, flowers and singing. She also loved the Iraqi people and believed they cared for the American troops who were there to help them. After completing her military duty, Jennifer planned on going back into the flower shop business.
