Blanche P. Lachimia, 82, lifetime Brockton resident, Massasoit chorus member

BROCKTON - Blanche P. (Benoit) Lachimia, 82, a lifelong resident of Brockton, died unexpectedly Sunday at her home. She was the wife of the late Joseph Lachimia.
Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Guyette) Benoit. She attended St. Patrick's School and had been a longtime communicant of St. Patrick's Church.
Mrs. Lachimia was a member of Massasoit College Senior Chorus for more than 15 years, performing at Massasoit and at various nursing homes and senior centers throughout the Brockton area.
She enjoyed playing bingo, singing and was known for her good nature and fun-loving attitude.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Lachimia Jr. of Quincy, and one daughter, Phyllis B. Darling of Brockton; a sister, Helen Wise of Brockton; one grandson and two great-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Eva Drumgool, Dolores Dunlap, George Benoit, Charles Benoit, Rose Duffy, Edna Meagher, Annie Caffrey, Doris Capozzi and Evelyn Estes.
The funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Thursday from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St., Brockton, followed by a 9 a.m. funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, Brockton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Brockton.
