Marceline Joyce Bargen was born Nov. 23, 1927 near Superior, the daughter of Merle and Gladys Shaw. She died April 2 at her home northeast of Superior at the age of 51.
In 1943, she was baptized in the Baptist Church of Superior and in 1973 she transferred her membership to the Nelson Christian Church.
She was married to Carl Tordrup on Dec. 23, 1949. Twin sons, Gary and Larry were born to this union. Larry died in infancy. Mr. Tordrup died April 5, 1970.
Sept. 6, 1972 she and Albert Bargen were married in Nelson. Mr. Bargen was killed in an accident on Aug. 21, 1974.
Mrs. Bargen lived most of her life in Superior. Since 1972 she has lived on the farm near Cadams. She belonged to the Cadams Extension Club and the Superior VFW auxiliary.
Preceding her in death were her father, her husband Carl, her husband Albert and infant son Larry.
Survivors include her mother, Gladys Shaw, Superior, her son Gary Tordrup of Nora; a grandson Chris Tordrup, one sister Phyllis Lincoln, Wichita and one brother George Shaw of Superior.
Services were held last Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Mergrue-Price Funeral Home and Chapel in Superior. The Rev. Victor Schwarz and Pastor Richard Kelderhouse officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
