Wife of Harman Blennerhassett Sr.; daughter of Robert Agnew, the lieutenant-governor of the Isle of Man - Ireland. Mother of six children including: Margaret, Joseph Lewis, Dominic, Harman Jr. and another daughter named Margaret.

Margaret, being a niece to Harman, the family fled Ireland to come to America to escape persecution. After her husband's arrest and finally acquittal for high treason due to his association with Aaron Burr; the family returned to England. Harman died on the Island of Guernesy in 1831, after a series of strokes. Margaret and Harman Jr., both being of ill health, returned to America where she lived until her death in New York; never having obtained from Congress payment for property destroyed on her island home.

Margaret published Deserted Isle (1822) and The Widow of the Rock and Other Poems (1824).

Gravesite Details (She and Harman Jr. were removed from New York and re-buried here on the Island behind their home.)
