Harold James Cox, 79, Bridgeport, died Saturday at the Brewster hospital.
He was born December 1, 1902, at Hardman, Oregon, was raised near Heppner, Oregon and worked in Medford, Oregon on an electrical crew in 1926. He then went to Shasta Dam, California where he was employed until 1954 when he moved to Newport, where he worked at Albeni Falls Dam.
Mr. Cox married Harriet Mathison at Klamath Falls, Oregon, on June 19, 1933. He was powerhouse operator for the US government and retired in 1966 at Albeni Falls Dam.
Mr. Cox moved to Dallasport, then came to Bridgeport in 1979.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 659, Medford, Oregon.
Survivors include his wife, Harriet, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Donna) Duncan, Orange, Ca., and Mrs. Jim (Jane) Shea, Merritt Island, Florida; one son, Arnold Cox, Bridgeport; one sister, Lena Young, The Dalles, Oregon; two brothers, Bernard Cox, Dallasport and Jay Cox, Hood River, Oregon; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services Wednesday, November 3, 11 am Bridgeport Cemetery. Interment Bridgeport Cemetery. Barnes Chapel, Brewster, in charge of arrangements.
