Carolyn Strickland age 71, of Crestview passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. She was born on October 11, 1945, to Lloyd and Rosa Moseley. Carolyn was a member of Apostolic Life Tabernacle for many years. She loved going to church and loved going out to eat with her friends, especially Frances Settles and Margie Trent. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Roble Strickland.
Survivors include her daughters: Rhonda Martin and husband Richard, and Becky Bernard; grandchildren: Morgan Martin, Chad Martin and wife Kayla, Isaiah and Jacey Conyers; and a great grandchild Maila Martin. Also surviving are Len Steinmeier, Rudy and Alicia Dukes, Tiffany Ryan and Chariton Abram who she helped raise and also called her Maw Maw. Carolyn has 2 sisters in laws: Nina Overholtz and Gwen Hughes and a brother in law Charlie Adams that survive her, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended church family. The family would like to say a special thank you to Jennifer Garrick- RN, April Bracewell- RN, Kathy Harrell- RN, MCP, Dena Bryant- HA, CNA, and Billie Anne Gillihan Med Rec, for taking special care of their mom.
A time of visitation with the family will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016, at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. The celebration of Carolyn's life will be on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Apostolic Life Tabernacle with Pastor Mike Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in the Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery.
