Mrs. Mildred P. Keller Bush, 90 of East Palestine died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at 2:21 pm at The Essex II Nursing Home, Salem, Ohio, following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Leetonia, Ohio, on July 9, 1918 to John G. and Elsie (Groner) Keller. She graduated from East Fairfield Centralized High School in 1936 and attended the nurses training program at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

On April 2, 1938 she married Herbert R. Bush of Salem, Ohio. The couple resided in Salem until April 1, 1941, when they moved to East Palestine, Ohio, where she and Mr. Bush founded the Bush Heating Company.

Mrs. Bush was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and the Wesley Weds Class in East Palestine where she was also a past President of the United Methodist Women's Organization. She was a 50 year member of the East Palestine Order of the Eastern Star 381 and served as Worthy Matron of that group in 1964. She was a long-time member and past President of the East Palestine Garden Club. She also served her community as President of the East Palestine Parent Teacher Organization and as Chairperson of the Grand Ball for East Palestine's Centennial celebration. Her hobbies included golf, gardening, floral arranging and baking. She was well known throughout the community for her service to the elderly.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Mrs. Linda (Thomas L.) Bolon of Columbiana; a son, Mr. Terry P. Bush of Steubenville, Ohio; Granddaughters Brenda of Columbiana and Leigh Ann of Holland, Michigan and Grandsons, Terry and Patrick of Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Herbert R. Bush in 2003, her parents, John and Elsie Keller; four brothers, Olin, Merlin Carl and Ray Keller and two sisters, Lois Keller and Zelda (Keller) Peppel.

Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, August 1, 2008 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, with services to follow at the Oliver Linsley Funeral Home, 644 East Main Street, East Palestine, Ohio. The Reverend Dave Martin, Pastor of the Centenary United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Salem Grandview Cemetery, Salem, Ohio. The family requests that memorial tributes be made to the American Cancer Society and Hospice of the Valley.
