Services celebrating the life of Mrs. Becky Ashley, 76, will be held at Grawood Baptist Church, 5841 Colquitt Road, Keithville, LA at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2008. Officiating will be Dr. Calvin Phelps as well as Brother Mickey McDaniel and Associate Pastor, Ronnie Mills, both of Grawood Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2008.

Mrs. Ashley died July 17, 2008 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family in the morning hours. She was diagnosed with Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gerhig's Disease) in August, 2006.

Becky loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Grawood Baptist Church for over 40 years. She was a loving wife, a dedicated homemaker, a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed being a 4-H leader for many years as well as cooking and sharing life with all of those she loved. She was known as a "green thumb" gardener who loved flowers and a pretty yard as well as to watch the birds at their feeders. Her favorite garden plaque read:

"THE KISS OF THE SUN FOR PARDON

THE SONG OF THE BIRDS FOR MIRTH

ONE IS NEARER GOD'S HEART IN A GARDEN

THAN ANYWHERE ELSE ON EARTH"

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Irene Rockefeller and her brothers, Ronald Joe and Richard Rockefeller.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Jack, of 57 years; son, Gregg and his wife, Gwen, and precious granddaughter, Elizabeth Irene; brother, Dr. Robert Rockefeller and his wife, Dr. Kristi Rockefeller and nieces and nephews, Deanna and Rob Rockefeller and Joe Richard and Lisa Rockefeller Bowen.

Because Becky was charitable throughout her life, it was her request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Gideon Memorial Bibles, Shreveport West Camp, P.O. Box 3802, Shreveport, LA 71133, or Grawood Baptist Church, 5841 Colquitt Rd. Keithville, LA 71047 in her memory or to your charity of choice.

Special appreciation to our daughter-in-law, Gwen Ashley, a dedicated RN for her loving care to Becky and Jack. "Thank You" to all our family and friends for your calls, visits, flowers, food, thoughts, and prayers during our time of trial. It has been an inspiration to us and we shall never forget you! Sincere gratitude to LifePath Hospice for all their compassionate care during Becky's illness. May God bless and keep you always in His care.

Pallbearers for Becky's service will be Bobby Speight, John Goins, Bill Holm, Rob Rockefeller, Steve Ashley and Jimmy Ashley.

Honorary pallbearers will be A.J. Bell and John Holm, Jr. of Hillsboro, OR.
