Mrs. Lillie Long succumbs Sunday at Columbus

Franklin - Mrs. Lillie M. Long, 78, a lifelong resident of Shelby and Johnson counties, died Sunday afternoon at the Columbus Convalescent Home. She had been ill for four years and in the nursing home for six weeks.

Born March 22, 1889, in Indiana, she was the daughter of John C. and Nancy Bisel. She was married in Brown County in 1907 to Walter Long, who died in 1954.

She is survived by a son, Norris Long of rural Shelbyville. Three children preceded her in death.

Also remaining are two sisters, Annie Dinn of Edinburg and Florence Waltz of Columbus, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She attended Bartholomew county schools and was a member of the Oak Ridge Christian Church of Brown County.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home where friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Burial will be at the Second Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
