Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2000 for 59-year-old Herman J. Amschler of Perryville who died July 10, 2000 at St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau.

He was born on July 7, 1941 in Perryville, the son of the late Edwin Amschler and Rosa Winschel.

He was married to VeldaLee M. Ruch. She survives in Perryville.

One son, Kevin J. Amschler, survives in Old Appleton.

The following brothers and sisters survive: John Parres of Bonne Terre; Jack Bishop of Denver, Co.; Rosella Fahrner of Fairview Heights, Ill.; and Dr. Patricia Schremp of Perryville.

Two granddaughters survive, Brittany Ann Amschler and Brianna Marie Amschler.

Mr. Amschler had been a stitcher for International Shoe Co. for 30 years. He also worked as a custodian for the Perry County School District. He was a Navy veteran, a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at Silver Lake and a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 12 from 4-9 p.m. at the Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish wake with the K of C at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be Thursday, July 13 from 6:30-9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m.

Funeral Mass for Herman J. Amschler will be held Thursday, July 13 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Rev. Kevin P. Fausz, C.M. will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Masses.
