Raymond E. White, 72, of Canton, IL., died at 11:10 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Graham Hospital in Canton. He was born May 21, 1934, in Canton, to Delbert and Clara Azbell White.
Raymond married Eleanor Louise Maurice on Feb. 17, 1996, in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Rolland (Karen) White of Paradise, CA; three daughters, Raelene (Rick) Deck of Springfield, OR., Diane (Chris) Dunken and Cindy Pasha, both of Siloam Springs, AR; one step daughter, Andrena (Ross) Roth of Canton; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are three sisters, Lois Smith of Cuba, and Betty Shannon and Novetta Niecekowski, both of Marietta, IL.
Raymond was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Raymond worked for the Canton Police Department and later worked for the Santa Cruz, CA., Police Department as a patrolman and scuba diver, retiring in 1980. He last worked for the Silicone systems in Santa Cruz as a security guard.
He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Santa Cruz.
Raymond also served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Funeral services will be at 10 p.m. Wednesday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
Memorials may be made to the Canton High School football team.
