Marvin Dennis Pike, Jr, 76, Home Place, passed away November 8, 2007. Marvin was an educator throughout Indiana and a principal of Lapel Community School. He served as the first manager of Clay Township Regional Waste District and deputy trustee of Clay Township under three trustees. He was very active in the Home Place Community establishing the Home Place Library and Museum, furthering his love of history. People will remember him as a Marine, helpful neighbor, joke teller, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, loving husband, public speaker, mentor, teacher and friend. He was preceded in death by his son, Sean. Survivors include his wife, Linda; sons, Denny, Rick and Dallis; daughter, Marian Fladland; sisters, Juanita Holmes and Sarah Pike. A graveside service will take place on November 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Williams Creek Cemetery. Family and friends will gather in the John Hensel Government Building, 10701 N. College, Indianapolis, Indiana 46280, immediately following the burial.
