Thomas Joseph Babcock, 64, of Frederika, died at home Tuesday, July 29, of pancreatic cancer.

He was born Feb. 22, 1944, in New Hampton, son of Everett and Mary McFarland Babcock. He married Sharon Shinstine on Feb. 4, 1967, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Hampton

Mr. Babcock graduated from New Hampton High School in 1962, then was employed by Supersweet Feeds, New Hampton, until 1967. He was employed at Culligan for a short time and later at K&W Motors, New Hampton, for more than 20 years. While he worked at K&W he also managed Firemen's Theater, New Hampton, and drove a truck for Beatrice Cheese, Fredericksburg. He was then employed by USF Dugan, Ankeny, and after retiring, helped Nolte Excavating, driving a truck.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Brenda (Neil) Whitney of Frederika; a son, Tommy (Toni) of Waterloo; a brother, Jim (Lois) of Pueblo, Colo.; and a brother-in-law, Steve "Boobie" Adams of New Hampton.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Edna Adams.

Graveside services: 3 p.m. Sunday at New Hampton Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life service at Kolby's Dine and Stein. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton.
