Our ward has again been visited by the Angel of Death, Mrs Mary E. Haskell Jenkins,
wife of John F. Jenkins, who took sick Sept 19th gave birth to a babe dead when
born. She has lingered along since that time until Oct 45h, when her spirit took
flight. She leaves a husband and three small children, two boys and one girl, the
youngest being five years old. She was President of Primary for several years and
was greatly beloved by all the children, and all the little ones of her class were
present at the funeral, and to show their love for their dear teacher they covered
the casket with flowers, which was very sympathetic, so much so there was not a dry
eye in the house,
The speakers at the funeral were W. R. Barber and John A. Hyde, who spoke very
encouragingly to the relatives and gave good advice to all. she was buried in the
Freedom cemetery, the grave being dedicated by Bishop A. F. Bracken.
She died a faithful Latter-day Saint.
