Mary M. Hoopes services held
Mary Marie Miller Hoopes, former resident of Freedom, 73, died Sunday. Aug 25, 1985,
in Winston Oregon.
Graveside services were held on Friday, Aug 30, 1985, at 1 p.m. in Freedom, Wyo.
Burial was under the direction of Schwab Mortuary with interment in the Freedom
Wyoming Cemetery.
Mary was born April 13, 1912 to John Edward and Marie Christina Jensen Miller in
Emery, Utah. She was the tenth child in a family of eight brothers and four
sisters.
She married Leroy Child Hoopes on July 11, 1932 in Richfield Utah.
Mary was active in the LDS Church all of her life and spent many years in the Relief
Society presidency serving others.
Her love and devotion to her family was exhibited by the many hours she spent making
quilts, afghans, photo albums and books of remembrance for all of her three
children, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Child Hoopes, Winston, Ore., three sons, Chad
L. Hoopes Orem, Utah; F. Bruce Hoopes, Winston, Ore. and Brent M. Hoopes Bellevue,
Wash. Also surviving is her sister Madalene Boyles, Lehi, Utah, and a brother, Hugh
Miller, Grover, Utah.
