At age 16, Gerald was baptized at the United Methodist Church. He attended school at Bostwick. He spent his entire life in the Bostwick and Superior areas. June 30, 1942, Gerald entered the US Army at Fort Crook, Nebraska. He was discharged on December 31, 1945 at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. He served in the Rhineland, Germany, Europe. January 27, 1951, Gerald was united in marriage to Betty Hall at Mankato, Kansas. To this union four children were born. Gerald has been employed by Valley Building Center in Superior for the last 31 years. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Dewight and Sam: (Gerald Evan Jr.) Survivors include his wife, Betty of Superior; his children, Evan Mohler of Wellington, Kansas, Carl of Red Cloud, Harry of Hardy and Paula of Superior; his parents, Tom and Bernice Mohler of Superior; four brothers, Clede of Junction City, Kansas, Dr. Ferald of Wichita, Kansas, Harlan of Prattsville, Alabama and Tom of Broken Bow; two sisters, Mrs. Dale (LaVetta) Dunn of Junction City, Kansas, and LaVella Ray of Superior; two grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held December 19 th at 2 p.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior with Rev. Marion Knoell officiating. Burial was in the Bostwick Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Sheets, Stan Sheets, Jack Koester, Jerry Siebecker, Lloyd Rust and Richard Staatz.
