Mrs. Virginia Akers, 43, Athens Rt. 10, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday at the Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Methodist Church. The Rev. Gerald Champion will officiate and burial will be in the Athens Roselawn Cemetery, McConnell Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Surviving Mrs. Akers are her husband, Ethridge Akers; three daughters, Miss Sarah Akers, Miss Charlotte Akers and Miss Sharon Akers, all of Athens Rt. 10; a son, Charles Lee Akers, Decatur; her mother, Mrs. Annie Lee Dunlap, Falkville; two sisters, Mrs. Merle White and Mrs. Jean Ryan, both of Falkville; and a brother, Hal Cook, Falkville.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Meadows, Sammie Bryant, Oscar Vest, Charles Hill, Paul Hastings and Howard Shores.
