Jessie Tripp was the daughter of Ivan N and Laura (Long) Tripp. She was the sister of Jay R., Grace Ona, Harriet Lydia, George A, and Marshall B. Tripp. As a child, she attended Palmer Public School in Hinton Twp., Mecosta Co., MI. She married Leroy Emerson Griffin on January 1, 1918 in Big Rapids, Mecosta Co., MI. Together they had 11, children, one infant male died due to stillbirth on October 29, 1921. Leroy predeceased her in death on Sept. 9., 1968 and also a son, Robert Lee Griffin on June 13, 1989. They lived at a farm house on the corner of Aurelius and Willoughby Road for many years before they sold the corner lot and built a new house next to the corner at 4543 Willoughby Road which she resided in until her death at the age of 98. Leroy and Jessie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Old United Methodist Church on Cedar and Aurelius in Holt in January 1968. She was a member of the Holt Methodist Church and the Lillian Circle.
