Jack Woodard, 90, of Gardendale, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at his residence.


He was born April 29, 1918, in Cottonwood, Texas, to E.T. and Bunea (Bradley) Woodard. While in the U.S. Army he served in the Secret Service and Military Police in Italy and Africa. Jack moved to the Odessa area in 1975 from Fort Stockton. He worked for HWY Construction Co

He married Joann MacRury May 3, 1945 in Rome, Italy.


He is preceded in death by his parents, E.T. and Bunea Woodard, and sister, Dorthy Boen.


He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joann Woodard of Gardendale; sons, Jackie Woodard Jr. and wife, Reta of Odessa, Danny F. Woodard and wife, Barbara of Gardendale; daughter, Catrina L. Gayler and husband, Jerry of Gardendale; five grandchildren, Cody Woodard and wife, Mychelle (deceased), Tracy Gilbert and husband, Rusty, Jackie Chandler, Lisa Courtney and husband, John, Donald Woodard and wife, Melissa; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.


Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Clydell Chapman officiating.
