Darel Edwin Higgs, 90, of Monett, died at 7:54 p.m. yesterday, July 29, at Cox Monett Hospital.
Mr. Higgs was born July 12, 1918, in Purdy, the son of Bryan and Lois Hinsen Higgs. He was an Army veteran and a retired U. S. Postal carrier. He attended Fundamental Methodist Church in Monett.
He married Kathleen W. Burchett on January 1, 1954, in Cassville, and she preceded him in death May 3, 1988. He married Faye Ash on November 22, 1990, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and she survives.
Additional survivors include one step-daughter, Evelyn Schad of Monett; one step-son, Ronnie Stockton of Purdy; six step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one step-son, Don Stockton.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 1, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
