John was the son of John and Lydia Evans Sr. His parents came to America from Wales in 1695.
In 1722 John married Jane Howell. She was the daughter of Reynold & Mary [George] Howell.
John and Jane had 6 children:

On 4 August 1725 the land for the London Tract Church & Cemetery was donated by John Evans Sr. The Evans family was prominent in the early membership of this church.
Note the London Tract Church was established by members of the Welsh Tract Baptist Church in Newark, Delaware. In 1930 the original London Tract Church closed when there were no longer any living members.
John's grave marker has been located information from Welsh Tract church records. The markers for John's wife Jane and brother Roger have not. Records do show that they were buried here. Their markers and some other Evans early markers can not be found. A flood in 1800 carried away many tombstones and fires destroyed church records, including grave location specifics.
