Although the TS says Matilda was born in 1851 and was the daughter of Jacob and Martha Lincoln, I believe this is incorrect. Matilda was the daughter of Jacob Lincoln and his second wife Eliza Jane Lofton. This was recorded on her 1882 marriage record to John E. Walker. Interestingly Eliza Lincoln's mother was Matilda Voyles Lofton. The marriage records of her sisters, Catherine Lincoln Walk 1860-1930 and Roseanna Lincoln Walk 1864-before 1888 also show that their parents were Jacob and Eliza. The sisters married brothers.
Three census records show that Matilda was born c.1859 rather than in 1851--1860, 1870, and 1880. Also she was buried under her birth rather than married name.
It may be significant that this memorial appears to on the back side of that of Martha Gibbs Lincoln, her father's first wife. As noted, there are errors on both which are inconsistent with the record.
