Donald Carey Street was the only child of Gordon John and Hazel Aubrey Street. He was born in a tiny town called Indiana Harbour, Indiana.





STREET DONALD CAREY Died peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Monday, May 12, 2003 at the age of 84. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Frances, son, Dr. David Carey (Beth) of Stockton, daughters, Mary Frances Dupart of Hollywood, CA and Virginia Ann Jones (Jerry)of Las Vegas, NV and four grandchildren, Katy Lynn& Amelia Elizabeth Street, Blaise and Gilles Dupart. Donald was a member of the Orinda Masonic Lodge #122 for over 50 years, as well as a longtime member of Oakland Scottish Rite. He was an avid radio ham and served on the Board of Directors of the Oakland Radio Communication Assoc. and the Emergency Radio Disaster Unit. A member of the Oakland First Baptist Church since 1948, he graduated from Oakland Technical High School in 1939. He was an amateur pilot and enjoyed trap shooting and driving his Mustang with the bay Area Mustang Assoc. His lifelong interest in auto mechanics lead him to take a 2-year course at the College of Alameda after he retired at age 70. He worked in the optical business for 46 years, 35 of those were at Kaiser Optical Lab in Oakland. A graveside service was held for the family at Memory Gardens in Concord. A memorial service will be held at the Oakland First Baptist Church, date pending.
