Funeral services for Robert Arradondo, 81, of Altus, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at St. Johns Baptist Church.
Robert was born to Benjamin and Willie Mae Arrodondo on May 26, 1927, in Sunnyslope Township in Stroud. He attended creek county school, Lincoln High School, and Bunbar High School in Oklahoma City.
Robert served in the U.S. Military for more than 27 years. He later retired from the Army National Guard in 1987. Robert worked at Chickasha Cotton Oil Company. He also worked for a number of years as a truck driver for Powell Trucking Company of Blair.
Robert was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony and Robert Patrick; his parents, the Rev. Benjamin and Willie Mae Arradondo; sisters, Genieve Lindsay, Maggie Will B Golden, Bennie Lee Easterling, Arabel Arrodondo, Billie Jo Arradondo and Freddie Yvonne Ransom; brothers, Benjamin Franklin Jr., William (Mederia) Temple, Bob Cornius "BC" and Booker Theopolis "Booker T."; and one great-grandson, Christopher David Pitts.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Ora Lee Jones; children, Serry, Jennifer, James Marcel, Arthur Lee and Verlon (Loretta), all of Altus, and Melvin (Kris) Davis of Denver; brothers, Aaron (Inger) of Milsay, Otho Charles (Gail) of Tempe, Ariz., and John Elroy (Jeanne) of Nashville; sisters, Helen Wilson of Miami, Fla., Lillie (Ira) Lewis of Kikenny, Minn., and Wanda (Charles) Barker of Altus; 28 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Military and grave side rites will be held at Altus Cemetery.
