PANIDES - Border Patrol Agent Jason Christopher Panides, age 26, died in the line of duty April 4th, 2001, in Laredo, TX. A 1993 graduate of Terry Parker High School, he was a member of the National Honor Society, the TPHS marching band and jazz ensemble. In 1997, he received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Criminal Justice with Honors from The University of North Florida, cum laude, a member of Golden Key National Honor Society and Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Jason attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was a member of Order of the Arrow while in Troop 263. He graduated from The U.S. Border Patrol Academy Federal Law Enforcement Training Center Glynco, Georgia in July 1998. He served as a Border Patrol Agent for three and a half years stationed in Laredo, TX. He is survived by parents Dr. Wallace C. Panides of Fernandina Beach, FL and Rosemarie PanidesKaiser of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Christina Marie Panides, grandparents Orville and Marie Guinn of Jacksonville and Angelina Panides of Islip, NY, stepfather George Kaiser and stepsister Hillary Hope Kaiser as well as many other family and friends. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 10th at First Baptist Church, Ruth Lindsay Auditorium with Rev. Steve Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery, with full honors. The family will receive friends Monday April 9th from 68 at ARLINGTON PARK FUNERAL HOME, 6920 Lone Star Road, 7246384.
