Mary Louise Bernard, 69, passed away on July 19, 2006 after a lengthy illness. The Lord called his faithful servant home, Mary (Ma) was born in Nashville, GA on the April 11, 1937.

She was preceded by her parents, O.B. and Adel Luke, brothers, Harry, Buddy, Wilton and Kenny Luke, sisters, Sara Corbitt and Debbie Luke, daughter, Brenda Dillingham and son, Baby Joseph.

She leaves behind her husband William Bernard (Gramp), five sisters Nita (Bert), Joyce (Lamar), Linda (Dan), Doris (Sammy) and Martha, two children, Herman Dillingham (Linda) and Glenda Hickox (David) and two grandchildren, David William Hickox (Desiree)and Glynn Hickox; four great-grandchildren, Ashlinne Hickox, Deanna Hickox, Maria Brown and David Wes Hickox. Along with numerous"adopted" grand-kids--as it was always said by her daughter Glenda,"Ma should have a sign about her door that says 'Ma's safe Haven'."

She was a truly a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be forever missed and cherished for all the days of our lives.

A funeral mass was held on Monday, July 24, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Thanh Nyguyen as the Celebrant. The family received friends Sunday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home. Interment was at Arlington Park Cemetery.
