OBIT: Mrs. Maude MEDLING, 94, Church Street, Petersburg, died Wednesday morning, April 23, 1997, at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. She was born May 31, 1902, Petersburg, R.D, the daughter of Thomas J. & Bertha G. (Parks) Piper. She married Bert Gladstone Medling, November 18, 1922, in Petersburg. He died December 27, 1969. Mrs. Medling was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Petersburg. She had been employed at J.C. Blair Co, Huntingdon, and at the Huntingdon Silk Mill. She retired from the forestry department at Greenwood Nursery. Mrs. Medling was a life member of the Cloyd K. Davis American Legion Post Auxiliary, Petersburg, and a former member of the Petersburg Fire Company Auxiliary. Surviving are a daughter, Louise Carper, Petersburg; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. Services for Maude I. Medling, PO Box 81, Church St, Petersburg, will be held at 2PM, Saturday, at Zion Lutheran Church, Petersburg, by the Rev Steven E. Caler, interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Petersburg. Friends will be received from 7 to 9PM, Friday, at Robert I. Grove Funeral Home, Alexandria, and 1PM until the time of service Saturday at the church.
