He was born Oct. 6, 1901, in Burton, son of the late Dan L. and Elizabeth Shriver Tennant.
He was a retired farmer. In his early years he worked at DuPont in Morgantown, and taught school in the Wadestown area. He was the last surviving member of the Wadestown High School Class of 1920. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Crusader Lodge 422 of Wadestown, and the West Warren Baptist Church of Wadestown, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.
He is survived by a nephew, James Berdine, of Moravian Falls, N.C.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edna Six Tennant, on Jan. 25, 1997; a sister, Edna Berdine; and a brother in infancy.
Friends may call at Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, with Pastor Tim Brower officiating. Burial will be in Wadestown Cemetery.
